eBook Marketing Strategy

How To Make Writing An Ebook Or Sales Letter A Snap?

If you want to get that ebook or sales letter done -- and you're not afraid of using "Marathon Writing Techniques" to get the job done fast -- then let me share some tips to help make writing easier and faster.

Here's what I do when I write sales letters and ebooks...

1) INCREASE YOUR CAFFEINE INTAKE -- Okay, so I'm a caffeine junky. I'm talking loads of it. Of course if you don't drink caffeine currently, I wouldn't recommend getting started.

But if you do enjoy a good cup of Jo or a soda here and there, then try using it before writing. Studies have shown that it actually increases your IQ points. And I find coffee is a great way to "oil" my mind and fingers for writing quickly while increasing my clarity.

2) RESEARCH YOUR WRITING PROJECT -- Read everything you can on the subject right before you start. If you're creating an ebook, look at other books on a similar subject. Same with sales letters. Read all you can. And the best way to absorb it and use what you find is to read about it moments before you actually start to write.

3) NOODLE YOUR IDEAS AROUND --After researching I like to sit back and think about the subject. And when I do, I notice new ideas that pop into my head like magic. Then it's time to start taking notes so I don't lose an ounce of inspiration.

4) START TO WRITE -- Beginning to write for me is like dipping my big toe into a pool before diving in. I like to start writing whatever comes to mind so I can center in on the subject.

With sales letters I start working on headlines and openings. And sometimes I'll start over a hundred times or more. It's a warm up for writing, and it lets me try out different ways to best communicate.

Same with ebooks. I write chapter by chapter. I get ready, start writing a chapter, and I might do it over a dozen times as a warm up. I write like this until I'm like a horse eager to get out of the gate. And then I just let my writing take over -- once I'm warm -- and start a marathon writing cycle.

5) WRITE FAST --Writing fast does wonders for the work you produce.

By writing fast you'll have a more continuous flow and that makes for an easy read. Sentences Й ideas Й paragraphs all blend together perfectly when you just write what you think and stop for nothing.

Don't worry about mistakes or things that don't seem right as you're writing them. Just keep plugging along. Get that first draft out, let it settle, and then go back and clean it up later.

Writing eBooks Tutorial For Small Business

Books are about sharing our knowledge and our experiences. They articulate feelings and information for people who do not have these kinds of communication skills. If you can think, you can hear your voice. If you can hear your voice, you can write. Writing is a simple extension of your mind to your fingers.

Do this exercise:

Open a blank page in your word processing program. Let your fingers hover just above the keys of your keyboard and close your eyes. Now clear you mind and let it fill with silence. Into that silence, let your thoughts begin to focus on what you instinctively know you can do well. Things you excel at. As each thought rises, type it. Baking, stained glass, gardening, restoring classic carsЙwrite until the well runs dry.

Now open your eyes. Like magic, before your eyes, here is a list of topics for potential ebooks!

There is no price that can be placed on your unique knowledge and experience. The trick is to draw from the well of that knowledge and use it to create an ebook.

Internet businesses are hungry for information about how to turn their websites into profit-making machines. Whenever an entrepreneur first starts a business, he or she lacks the patina of experience that comes from many years of working in the trenches. If your ebook can help rocket them forward in time by providing them with your invaluable business know-how, you've got a topic for a beneficial and successful ebook.

Ebooks are one of the most powerful marketing tools available in the world today. They can be sent out as attachments in emails, offered for free or for a fee on your website, or sent out on discs through the mail. They can be marketed by your affiliates through links on their sites and in your ebook. You can offer your ebook through an autoresponder, thereby capturing email addresses and building a list of potential customers. Or you can use your ebook to build an opt-in email list С by sending email only to people who want it, you differentiate your messages from spam and increase the value of your list.

The ebook format is one of the most versatile on the Internet. You can use it to create brochures, newsletters, courses offering advice and information about your goods or services, training tools С all for a profit. Using ebooks correctly and with business savvy will direct quality traffic to your website and generate potential sales. Ebooks can educate your visitors about your products or services, and teach them about new procedures or techniques. You can use free ebooks to reward visitors for filling out a customer survey, which in turn gives you invaluable insight into customer motivation and habits. Giving away your ebooks for free helps to build solid business relationships and keep your customers coming back to your website. Ebooks will help build your reputation as an expert in your field and make your business a known commodity.

If you want to write about Internet Marketing, you will find a mountain of ebooks about this subject. You must go through them and locate what is missing. You can market ANYTHING on the Internet. What about a book about marketing a business that trains bloodhounds as search and rescue dogs? Or a book about marketing a business that grows organic herbs and mushrooms? Figure out what you're passions are and then turn them into ebooks!

Ebooks are a road to personal fulfillment and financial success. They are fairly simple to produce and the cost is minimal. Your ebook not only has the potential to create profits, but it may very well transform you into a celebrity. In turn, your value increases along with your profits. Like a tree lush with leaves, your ebook will fly across cyberspace, shedding its seeds of knowledge. And those seed will bear the fruit of new clients and opportunities for many years to come.

Write Your eBook Fast

Why write an eBook?

You want ongoing, lifelong multiple streams of income. You want to raise your credibility and trust ratings with clients or customers. You want to get your message out so the world can be a better place.

You want to spend only a little time on it. (Would you be willing to spend 4 hours a week?) You want to get it out fast (Would 4-8 weeks be OK?) You want to market for a low-cost investment. And, for some of you, you are ready to be innovative and even take a small risk to get your eBook read by hundreds of thousands, rather than hundreds!

Where are you now?

You have an idea for your eBook; you have a lot of ideas! Take a moment and decide which one you are most passionate about now and will be for the next year or two. Focus on one great idea, where you know what the audience needs or wants-- your solutions to their problem.

Or, do you have your eBook well on its way, but aren't finished. You need advice on how to get it done, what's needed to publish (not much!), and how to distribute it to pull continuous monthly sales that can be 1/3 to 1/2 your income?

Who Should Write an eBook?

-If you want to share your unique message world-wide to help people create a better life.

- If you are ready to invest a little to reap a great deal.

- If you are a business person who want to expand your business and be a leader in your field.

-If you are willing to move much faster than traditional publishing to sell faster, more, and create more cash flow for marketing.

What do I Need to Know Before I write this eBook?

1. To help make your eBook successful apply the essential "Seven Hot-Selling Points." These include title, table of contents, thesis, "60 second tell and sell," one preferred audience, introduction and the back cover.

Why? Every part of your book can be a sales tool. When you include the above "hot-selling points" you will have a roadmap to guide you to writing a focused, organized, compelling book that you will only have to edit a few times.

2. You also need to know how to write a focused, organized, chapter each time. Think format. Each chapter should have approximately the same number of pages if it is a self-help book. Each book chapter may need an introduction, an opening few questions or shocking facts to hook the reader to keep reading, a few stories or analogies to illustrate your how-to's, and an ending that may be a summary, questions to ponder, or action steps to take.

Designing every chapter and knowing your essential "hot-selling points" are your eBook's 24/7 sales team and a beacon that brings out your best: writing a compelling, easy to read, inspiring and informational eBook that hundreds of thousands of buyers will want.

Succeeding With Your Info-Ebook Business In Seven Simple Steps

MY STORY: My success has been through writing and selling (sometimes giving away) ebooks on topics I have practical experience in. In my pay-per-title ebooks, I share my knowlege (tooting my own horn) of the clerical support field, gained over a 14 yr period.

The free ebooks I use, more or less, as a "teaser" to introduce possible customers to my style of writing. Some freebie ebooks feature related ClickBank links (for commission), others I include rotating banners ads (charging others to have their banner included in the rotation).

My goal when I initally started was not to get rich...just to earn enough money to pay for my monthly internet and hosting fees. So far (crossing my fingers AND knocking on wood), I have met that goal plus some :)

HOW YOU CAN SUCCEED, TOO:

1) Write an ORIGINAL info-ebook on a topic you have practical knowlege or experience in.

2) Use an attractive layout/template that is easy for the newest of newbies to navigate.

3) Offer a free or shareware version, if at all possible. 4) Invest in an attractive ebook cover.

5) Obtain paid hosting...avoid free servers with forced pop-up and pop-under ads that can distract from your site's appeal or lure visitors away.

6) Create a "partner" program (ClickBank's an excellent choice).

7) Be fair to affiliates..offer ONE form of payment processing.

You will need to expend a little money to make a little money. For added revenue, include a banner rotation...and offer your visitors the opportunity to "advertise in ALL freebie ebooks" for the low, low price of...

The info-ebook biz is definitely one that YOU can start with a very small investment, operate on a small budget and one that offers the potential to earn hundreds in just months!

5 eBook Joint Venture Marketing Tactics

1) Give Away Reprint/Resale Rights

You could give e-zine publishers an e-book which they could sell and keep all the profits in exchange for an ongoing ad in their e-zine. When they stop selling it, they can stop running your e-zine ad. Maybe only do it for a small number of e-zine publishers at a time, so it doesn't get saturated and they start turning your deal down. If they only want to run your ad once, you could always include some of your ads in the e-book. К

2) Give Away An Advertisement

Create a directory of free e-zines in e-book format. In it, list the free e-zines of publishers who have agreed to advertise the free e-book on their web site and in their e-zine. When you build up a large number of participating e-zines, this will give the larger e-zines an incentive to give away or advertise your e-book. Of course you will have your own product ads in the e-book. К

3) Give Away Customization Rights

You could ask e-zine publishers to advertise your free e-book in their e-zine. Tell them that the e-book can be customized with their own web site links. This deal will help increase their traffic and sales. Of course you will have your own product ads in the e-book too. К

4) Give Away Your Expertise

You could ask e-zine publishers to give away your free e-book. They might accept, because they can use it as a bonus for people who subscribe to and read their own e-zine. This would increase the number of people who would see your free e-book ad and your other ads in inside it. Tell the e-zine publishers this would also help to keep their subscribers loyal. К

5) Give Away Information Archives

A lot of e-zine publishers don't publish their archives on their web site. It's extra work and takes up a lot of web space. You could offer to archive an e-zine's back issues in a free e-book format on your web site in return for the e-zine continuing to run one of your ads. Or just have them mention the archives can be downloaded at your web site because your product ads would be there anyway. Or you could have them give away the free e-book in their e-zine because your ads would be in it.

Price your eBook to Sell Well

Q. The big question asked me in teleclasses or client sessions is "How should I price my eBook?

A. The big answer is "it depends."

Here's seven tips to help:

1. Determine your audience's need and demand for your book. If your book solves a particular problem for a preferred audience, it will sell well at any price. When you know your 30-60 second "Tell and Sell," you'll be more likely to know a proper price.

Let's say you have a book "Stop Divorce Now." Your tell and sell includes "Helps the nearly divorced audience, both men and women." That audience gives your book a slant, and makes it more valuable. In the "Tell and Sell" you must also include the benefits your book brings its audience. The top benefit of this book is that it stops divorce now.

No matter the number of pages, anywhere from 15-99, this kind of book will bring a healthy price. Maybe $39.95, maybe more.

2. Sell to your "wants it short, easy, and cheap to yield big profits audience. You can charge more than some general information book aimed at a general audience.

The 8 and 1/2 by 11" forty-page book "Write Your eBook or Other Short Book--Fast!" loaded with how to's and which specific steps to do first, along with hundreds of Web and email resources is well worth the list price of $24.95. The author puts it on discount several times a year for only $18.95, but it sells well at $24.95.

If someone wants to write and publish a book, this price tag is small for what it gives and the speed one can finish a short book to start making money within 60 days.

3. Know that eBooks bring as big a price as print books. Don't under price yours. Assign it the highest price you feel your audience can afford. If you don't sell many (remember to sell many you need to promote your books Online and on Web sites) try a lower price. Always start with the highest price.

4. Rethink your title to sell more books. Make it short and compelling, but be sure to make it clear. Three-six words will sell better than a really long title, although there are exceptions.

One eBook "High Traffic=High Web Sales" sells better than "How to Dramatically Increase your Web Traffic and Sales."

5. Know that "how-to" books bring a larger price than a story.

6. Price your personal growth and health books lower than the specific how-to books. Shorter eBooks such as 10-30 pages will easily go for $7.95 to $12.95. Longer ones can go for $15.95. This audience is huge, but your book has far more competition in this group. Think Chicken Soup for the Soul series, selling over 70 million.

7. Promote your eBook Online to catch the Online business people. Reach 1000's, even hundreds of thousands each day you submit a related article. They want all kinds of books. Learn how to sell more books by learning this kind of promotion.

Apply these tips to your print books too. You can make 1/4 to 1/2 your income from book sales if the price is right.
