The Fastest Way to Get Traffic to Your Web Site
You choose which words or phrases you would like to use for your ad. When somebody searches Google using those search terms, your ad will appear. If they then click on your ad, it takes them to a specific page on your Web site.

Lots of people would like to get their Web site to the top of Google's free listings. But that's precisely the problem: You're competing with lots of people. It's certainly possible to get to the top - after all, somebody has to be there! - but it takes a lot of time and effort. Alternatively, you could pay a search engine marketing company to do this for you.
But by far the better way to get to the top of Google is to pay for it. Google's "AdWords" program allows even a small business to buy advertising for selected key words and phrases. You might be surprised at how little you have to pay.
--- Here's how it works ... ---
Google (at http://www.google.com ) has two types of listings: Free and paid. Google makes its money from the paid listings.
Google AdWords is the name of Google's paid advertising system. It is a pay-per-click advertising system, which means that you only pay when someone clicks on your advertisement.
AdWords is an auction-based system. You offer to pay a certain price for each click, and you compete with other bidders for higher placement.
You choose which words or phrases you would like to use for your ad. When somebody searches Google using those search terms, your ad will appear. If they then click on your ad, it takes them to a specific page on your Web site.
--- The biggest advantage is that it gives you CONTROL. ---
Another problem with trying to get into the free listings at Google is that you don't have much control over how your page will appear. You're not sure exactly which search phrases will display it; you're not sure what Google will say about it; and you're not sure which pages of your site will match Google's criteria for each search phrase.
With AdWords, all those problems disappear. You can control the exact wording of your ads, the exact page they link to, the exact search phrases they match, and exactly when they appear.
For example, when I went overseas for a month last year, I turned off all my Google advertising while I was away. (That was in the days before I had fine-tuned my advertising campaigns. Nowadays, I would just leave the ads running, knowing that they would make me money in my absence :-))
You can control where the ads appear in the world. For example, at the time of the Australian election last October, one of my clients had an election-related Web site, so we ran some Google ads - but only for Australian Internet users.
You can get even more specific with geography. For example, I can run ads for events that I'm conducting in Sydney, and only show those ads to people in and around Sydney.
You can run two ads side by side and find out which is more responsive. Then you delete the weaker ad and replace it with a third ad that you pit against the stronger ad. Keep doing this until you find the ad that gets the best results.
Google tells you exactly which words and phrases people used when searching. For example, when we did the advertising for the election campaign, we found that "Australian election" had 50% more searches than "federal election"; and "liberal party" had three times as many searches as "labor party"!
--- With all these benefits, why would you ever go for free listings? ---
I hope I've convinced you by now that Google AdWords is the best way to get traffic from search engines.
But what about the free listings?
Actually, I'm NOT suggesting that you give up the idea of getting a free listing in Google. There are definitely advantages to these listings.
What I am saying is that you should go for the paid listings first - to test your market, refine your ad copy and improve your marketing. Then put your efforts into the free listings if you choose.

Find Powerful Keyword Phrases in Five Easy Steps
Where do you find the phrases? Keyword phrases can come from a number of sources. As a first step, take a look at your website and start listing possible keyword phrases. Think about your Unique Selling Proposition for your product or service and add to your list of keyword phrases.

You may not realize it, but in the next few minutes you are going to learn one of the three most important steps to a successful pay-per-click campaign. That is, how do we find powerful keyword phrases in five easy steps? And the best of all, these steps are absolutely free!
As a start, you should focus on finding keyword phrases versus individual keywords. An individual keyword is usually too general in target and carries a higher bid price. For example, just think if you chose the keyword "toys" and how many types of toys might come up in the search results. We could have girl toys, boy toys, adult toys, child toys, youth toys, adolescent toys, pool toys, etc. If you were marketing toys for boys six to nine years old and bid on the keyword "toys" you would probably spend an excessive amount and get a number of click- throughs from individuals that are not in your target market.
So, how many keyword phrases do you need? Your goal should be a minimum of twenty keyword phrases with a target of seventy-five to one hundred. By the time you apply the matching options offered by the pay-per-click search engine, you should have more than enough keyword phrases.
Where do you find the phrases? Keyword phrases can come from a number of sources. As a first step, take a look at your website and start listing possible keyword phrases. Think about your Unique Selling Proposition for your product or service and add to your list of keyword phrases.
Who are your competitors? Go to your search engine of choice and do a quick search with your initial list of possible keyword phrases. Scan the search results and select several web sites. Read the text on the selected web sites and add keyword phrases to your list. If you would like to get detailed in your search, review the Meta tags for the title, description and keywords. The simple way to do this is place your cursor in the web site page, click the right mouse button and select "View Source."
Now, add more keyword phrases to your list.
Some of the best sources for keyword search phrases are the suggestion tools provided by the pay-per-click search engines. Two of the most popular are the Overture Keyword Selector Tool at http://inventory.overture.com and the Google Adwords Keyword Tool at http://adwords.google.com/select/keywordsandbox.
Go to the Overture Keyword Selector Tool and enter your keyword or keyword phrase in the search box. The tool will display for the past month: your keyword phrase, the number of searches, other keyword phrases containing your keyword phrase and the number of searches for the other keyword phrases. You should be able to add a number of keyword phrases to your list that perhaps you haven't thought of plus you get one other key piece of information.
You will learn the popularity of the keyword search phrases. If the number of searches is in the thousands then you have a large market opportunity for your product or service offering. Unfortunately, if it is a low number of searches you may want to reconsider your market potential. However, a pay-per-click campaign could be a quick market research project. There is no reason why low search volume phrases cannot produce a high click- through and conversion rate opportunity in a small, targeted market. Isn't that what people refer to as a niche market?
Now again, add more keyword phrases to your list.
Check out the Google Adwords Keyword Tool. This tool works differently from the Overture tool. Enter your keyword search phrase in the search box, select your language and country and review the two results. The first result is every keyword search phrase containing your keyword search phrase. The second result is similar keywords to your keyword search phrase. Once again, you will probably see some keyword phrases that you haven't thought about. Unfortunately, search volumes are not provided but, look at the number of possible additions to your keyword phrase list.
Again, add more keyword phrases to your list.
There is one additional keyword tool you might want to consider. This free tool is Good Keywords which can be downloaded at http://www.goodkeywords.com . This tool retrieves its results from the Overture search engine so you will get the same information as the Overture Keyword Selector Tool. However, it does provide features and functions which make it easier to cut and paste results to other documents such as Microsoft Word or Excel. Once the keyword phrases and search volumes are loaded in an Excel spreadsheet, it is very easy to sort, group and manipulate your keyword phrase possibilities.
By now you should easily have one hundred plus keyword phrases to select from. In fact, you may have a several hundred or even more than one thousand. Also, there are several other things you may want to consider such as synonyms to your keywords, typical misspellings and seasonal variations of your keyword phrases.
The task of finding, selecting and targeting keyword phrases is a significant key to success in pay-per-click marketing. Apply these ideas and tasks and you will be on your way to pay-per- click campaign success.

5 Ways To Make Your Adwords Ads Outshine Your Competitors
by: Mohd Fairuz
Google Adwords is a very good place to promote your business on the Internet. It allows you to target for specific keywords, allowing you to to promote right product to the right audiences.
However, as more and more players promote their ads on Adwords, it becomes very hard to get your ads noticed. Here's are 5 ways how to make your ads outshine your competitors':
1- Use the keyword in your ad title
Let's say you're bidding on the keyword 'ecover software', make sure you use the keyword in the title. When someone search on Google for 'ecover software', the percentage they'll see your ad is higher because the keyword in your ad will appear in bold.
2- Use capitalization
Use capital letter on the first letter of every word. Instead of writing your ad like this: 'make money from home', try this 'Make Money From Home'.
3- Use numbers wherever possible
People love numbers. Instead of: 'Make Money From Home', you can try 'Make $897 Weekly From Home'.
4- Benefits, benefits, benefits
People look for product that can solve their problem. So your ad must use words that emphasize more on benefits. Instead of saying 'our ecover software is the best', you can say 'Create Amazing eCover With A Single Click'.
5- Don't put affiliate status anymore
In the past Google required marketers who promote affiliate products to mention their affiliate status. But with the recent Adwords policy, you don't have to. Delete the word 'aff' and use the extra space for other words. Besides, by hiding your affiliate status, this will encourage more people to click on your link.

How to Dominate Google Adwords from Day 1
by: Anik Singal
Whether you're promoting an affiliate program or your own product, using pay per click traffic is almost necessary.
Wait, let me re-phrase that - pay per click traffic is almost necessary to TEST. Let's be frank, this form of traffic does NOT work for all niches and businesses.
Also, succeeding with pay per click traffic is not as easy as just putting up an ad and sending traffic to your main site.
There are lots of elements involved such as your ad, your competition, the landing page, and how much you're paying.
Obviously, to discuss all these elements, we'd need to write a book - however, this particular article is going to make you an expert on how to pay less than all your competition and out rank them at the same time.
Google has a unique system of ranking their ads that allows you to be on the top even if you're paying the least per click.
How?
Just make sure you have the highest click-through rate on your ad...
There are two main things you need to do to make sure you can get to the top while paying the least.
1. Have a killer start - don't be cheap, spend the most in the beginning.
2. Consistently test your ads to improve your click through rate.
#1 - Killer Start
One of the biggest mistakes people make when they launch a PPC campaign is that they get cheap in the beginning and try to start slow.
That's all wrong.
You need to spend the most in the beginning. Go in with a bang...here are two reasons why.
1. If the strategy just isn't going to work, find out early and get out - don't waste precious time.
2. More importantly, spend the most on PER click in the beginning. Why?
If you spend the most on "per click" in the beginning, that's the only way you can convince Google to put you on the top. You have no click through record, so you have to make up for that by spending more.
By spending the most in the beginning, you'll get your ad on the front page and get quick exposure.
This way you'll quickly build up your click-through record and can immediately start decreasing your "cost per click" without losing your spot.
Now, if you had started with a low cost per click, you'd end up on some page far down, never really get any exposure and could potentially take weeks/months
before you build up any kind of click through rate.
So, first lesson, start fast - go in with a higher "per-click" budget. Get in strong and you'll see the best results.
#2 - Test, Test!
The next best way to increase your ad rankings and decrease your "per-click" costs is to always test new ads.
Google allows you to run two ads at the same time for the same keywords, they will automatically rotate your ads, one after the other.
This way you can slowly tweak the headlines, the ad, the domain name - everything and find what works best.
Always do this and you'll slowly see your click through rates increase - as your click through rises, you can decrease your "cost per click" without losing your spot in the ad.
So, bottom line, even if you're in a niche with a lot of competition - you can still dominate.
Go in strong, try to get your ad some quick exposure to build a clickthrough rate fast. Then, quickly start decreasing your per click costs.
Just a quick word of caution, if you use this strategy, make sure to actively monitor your adwords account. ALSO, make sure you set your daily limit to something you can afford losing.
You'd be surprised how quickly Google can eat up your mo*ney!
Alright, now you're equipped with some advanced tips on how to quickly take over a niche in Google.
